Healthcare Assistant

Location: Sittingbourne and surrounding Kent areas

Contract: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: Option A — 8:00–18:00, four days per week; Option B — 7.5 hours per day, five days per week; weekend and night work may be required for short‑notice cover.

Key responsibilities

  • Support registered nurses by carrying out observations, basic clinical tasks and assisting with care plans.
  • Provide personal care including assistance with mobility, toileting, feeding and dignity‑preserving support.
  • Maintain accurate records of observations, handovers and any incidents in line with client policies.
  • Prepare and support clinics and procedures as required by the placement, including assisting with safe moving and handling.
  • Stock and environment duties — ordering and maintaining supplies, completing daily checklists and supporting cleanliness.
  • Support audits and compliance by ensuring mandatory training and documentation are up to date and by following confidentiality and GDPR requirements.
  • Respond professionally to short‑notice and emergency cover requests, representing Premara Care with calmness and dependability.

Person specification / essential criteria

  • Previous HCA experience in care homes, residential or day‑case/outpatient settings.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Right to work in the UK and ability to pass pre‑employment checks (enhanced DBS, references, mandatory training).
  • Good communication skills, reliable timekeeping and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Desirable: phlebotomy experience and prior exposure to supporting clinical procedures.
